VWS Westgarth believes that after sales service and support is an integral part of maintaining our lead in the upstream oil & gas and membrane desalination markets. Within this sphere, the availability and reliable supply of consumable and replacement parts is critical.
As each client's project is different, a tailored package is drawn up to meet the specific needs of the installation. Under such an arrangement, VWS Westgarth would be responsible for the supply and offsite storage of recommended long term spares and to ensure that the client has sufficient, but not excessive, spares onboard/on-site to allow the plant to operate at maximum availability.
VWS Westgarth uses its extensive experience of operations to determine which spares should be held, both on and offshore. This critical approach will ensure that the spares stockholding cost is minimised, while availability is maximised. This approach is based on three criticality levels:
- Criticality 1Always in stock
- Criticality 2Holding determined on historical performance and lead-time for supply
- Criticality 3Not stocked (standard off the shelf item)
In consultation with the client, a spares management system is developed which will help ensure effective planned maintenance shutdowns, minimum operational downtime and hence a reduction in the single largest cost associated with maintenance - lost production revenue.
The spares management system is often integrated into the'Healthcare' contract, thus offering clients a'one stop shop' for all the operational equipment needs of the plant.
