VWS Westgarth Sales and Tendering Department

VWS Westgarth provides products and services which meet high standards of quality and reliability. Quality is a key goal for all our staff.

All our processes from tendering, design, project management through to installation, commissioning and servicing are covered by our detailed quality management system. Our quality management system complies with international standard ISO 9001:2000 and is certified by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance. This approval was originally achieved in 1993 and has been upgraded continually since then to comply with changes in quality practice and updates of the standard.

VWS Westgarth's 9001 certificate

Full transparency of the quality management system enables both East Kilbride and Gloucester offices to work in unison through adoption of the same quality management system and both facilities are jointly certified through our ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

In addition to ISO 9001:2000, and due to the nature of our clients' business, VWS Westgarth also complies with our individual clients' often very stringent and specific quality requirements.

Continuous Improvement System (CIS)

VWS Westgarth operates a sophisticated CIS database through a committee of experienced members. The purpose of the CIS database is to capture information about Company performance, supplier performance, and suggestions from staff about potential areas of improvement. It is used as one of the main tools on projects for capturing changes and issues that arise.

The CIS database allows staff to investigate issues raised on previous and existing projects/internal process improvements, to view the solutions for the items raised; thereby ensuring that similar issues do not recur. Preventive, rather corrective action is an important focal point for VWS Westgarth. The CIS implementation and review process is the principal tool for driving Continuous Improvement within our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems and provides a way to measure our performance.

CIS Fundamental Philosophy

All items raised in relation to a Project remain within the ownership of the nominated project team members. It remains the responsibility of the Project Manager to close out all items in relation to their particular project. In respect of Requests for Process Improvements (RPI's) it is the responsibility of the relevant department head / nominee to take ownership of an issue and to provide a suitable response.

The CIS Committee is empowered to review the Corrective and Preventive actions undertaken and proposed, but is not responsible for dealing with items on behalf of the project teams or departmental heads. The CIS Committee reviews responses and makes suggestions to departmental heads or project managers on items raised and agrees or asks for additional information to be incorporated into the system. The CIS Committee monitors the relevant departments to ensure that items are being dealt with in agreed timeframes and reports their findings in the Management Review Meetings which are held every 6 months.



VWS Westgarth is qualified in the Achilles Joint Qualification System for suppliers to the oil industry in Norway and Denmark.
